I chose “New” over used as I received this A3 sized framed & matted George Morgan Illustration of Tony Iommi’s (lead guitarist for the monumental metal band called “Black Sabbath”) favorite Gibson Jaydee Custom SG guitar he calls “The Old Boy”, as a gift, and never had the chance to hang it up! This print comes from a limited edition print run consisting of just 95 pieces, this one is signed and marked “2/95″, meaning the 2nd one made for a collectable series of 95 framed and matted illustrations, and each print is signed and individually numbered by hand in soft pencil by the artist prior to dispatch. Produced on thick 300 gsm silk art paper and custom matted and framed with a plexiglass type protection cover! The Old Boy was built around 1975 by John Diggins and soon became Tony’s main instrument on the road and in the studio. As a result the coats of paint and finish did not have time to cure. Some time later the guitar was left in a hot car causing the finish to bubble, giving the guitar it’s unique appearance, familiar to all Black Sabbath fans. Some come with picture and mat, and very few are framed!! Out of all that’s out there claiming to be “part of the 95 limit”, but none are signed by George Morgan, therefore throwing suspicion of counterfeit in the mix! You can clearly see the indentation of the “2/95″ and George Morgan’s name!!! I did not want to take it apart to measure the actual size of the illustration, A3, but the dimensions of what I have for the framed finish are as follows : The length is 20 3/8″ long x 16 1/2″ high x 1/2 thick.
